Interesting people part 1
I realize that when I mention the name Phineas
that most students think of Phineas and Ferb.
But I first heard the name when I read Phineas Gage: a
gruesome but true story about brain science.
Phineas is an example of a true survivor – in 1848 a thirteen pound iron rod shot through his head while on the job as a railroad construction foreman. He was alive but never quite the same. I must admit, when I read this I got just a bit light headed looking at the pictures.
