Miles suffers from schizophrenia. His first manifestation was two years ago, as a freshman in high school.  He takes his meds, and sees a therapist, but his symptoms aren’t really being managed.  This novel gives some insight in what it might be like to live with mental illness.

Simon has been corresponding with another closeted gay student by email for months. He feels like he’s really gotten to know “Blue.” His happiness is tainted when another student logs on to his email and screen shots incriminating passages, which is then used as blackmail in an attempt to be hooked up with one of Simon’s friends.  Simon still corresponds with “Blue” and deals with family drama. 

This is a funny, (Simon is quite witty,) and poignant tale of Simon trying to figure out who his email friend is, come out to his family and friends, and deal with bullying.
