Review: The Diabolic

The Diabolic The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this sci-fi series starter. It has a satisfying ending, so if you don't want to read more, there is no need. But if you have fallen in love with Nemesis like I did, you may want to read the next one and it is out! If you like political and royal drama set in space, this will be a treat.

Nemesis is a genetically modified teen, programed and trained as an assassin/protector. She is bonded to her charge, Sidonia, in such a way that she will do anything to protect her, even impersonate her, when Sidonia is summoned as a hostage to court. Many social and political maneuverings later, Nemesis has a real friend, a pet, and perhaps her own life. But there is treachery going on in the back ground, as usual in many royal families and those who seek power. Nemsis will be in extreme danger if anyone finds out what she really is.
